After 100 years, Tricia and I had a shoot together again! Her rings from Korea are so pretty, was tempted to steal both~ Oh, and she taught me the secret to making the uber huge Japanese hair buns! I usually do mine without the fillers but they’re a bit floppy—Tricia’s method is fool-proof!
Anyway, I bought the dress for 500 bucks at SM Department store—I think it’s a way cheaper alternative to a somewhat similar Topshop dress I was inclined to buy three months ago (didn’t though because it was a few sizes too large). SM Department Store is a treasure trove of cheap and awesome clothes—no wait, some of them aren’t so cheap (ie: the brand Soiree) but the quality is pretty good. In this day and age, recession-chic clothes are all the rage—buying labels are a bit unnecessary but just so you know, Topshop and all high street brands (Zara, Mango, Warehouse, and the like) aren’t considered labels so they are still quite necessary. Hur, hur. Me and my flaily logic.

Domz is loving the hobo chic fashion over at William Rast’s Fall RTW 2010 collection.
I am unable to explain and justify why. There’s a certain charm to its “I-don’t-care-go-fuck-yourself” put-togetherness.

Man, I don’t know how the Japanese and the Koreans hi-jack this sort-of Harajuku style and make it appear impeccable. I mean, sure, I can imagine the top on a Caucasian woman and she’d wear it wonderfully, I’m sure, but it would have a different effect. I’m inclined to think that of course, physical features play a large part but all in all, I think it’s the manner of how the clothes are worn?
Whatever. It’s not as if I’m not Asian. Coincidentally, I also happen to be Caucasian. I know, I am a walking Oxymoron. When I’m in Eastern countries, they ask if I’m French (which I’m obviously not) and when I’m in the midst of Westerners, they ask me if I’m Chinese (which I am, to an extent). It’s no wonder I felt like I didn’t have an identity as a child.
Anyway. HELLO WORLD! HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

It’s been so long since I’ve last seen Mye and I’m glad we were reunited once again. She’s grown so much as a photographer and personally, I feel so proud of what she has achieved. She’s insanely talented and driven! I can see her somewhere someday, and I say this with conviction.

Also, this shoot was like, a sort-of preparation for me. I got into my bandeau bra to see if I could stomach posing 1/4 nude (most especially since my UNO shoot was the next day and though UNO isn’t exactly men’s hardcore magazine, it still required a bit of sexy, showy skin) and honestly, it was a pretty comfortable environment. Funny enough, I didn’t go on a diet (though Mye claimed I lost weight), in fact, we both had cheeseburgers from McDonald’s and then yogurt. Consequently, I had Yellow cab and a huge ass chocolate cake before my UNO shoot (where I was seen prancing around in a corset and a leotard—shudder, shudder).

Domz is mourning for an influential genius/I love you McQueen, even in death people will still continue to worship the ground your shoes had walked on (and they will continue to walk in them, especially Lady Gaga).
I am beyond devastated. I’ve just been looking through his site, his photos, reading Kate Moss’ book and chancing upon his comments, not to mention, saying just recently: “YOU WAIT MCQUEEN, I’M GOING TO MEET YOU SOMEDAY AND BUY SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL FROM YOU.” I’m still in shock. I feel like someone killed my kittens.

This is my “no-brainer” Saturday outfit. Like, when I’m slumped and can’t think of anything to wear, I just pull out that top and match it with any of my bandage skirts (I have 3 black ones from topshop—they’re cheap and they fit me perfectly). Sometimes, I put on a different coat but most of the time, I like the contrast between the cropped lace coat and the top’s asymmetrical length and hem (consequently, how the top’s longest length reaches the hems of my bandage skirt, and how the heel’s length matches the shortness of the skirt). Yes, I am overthinking this.

I’m slightly envious that I can’t pull off dark shadow like this model can. I’ve got lashes like that right now (had extensions a few days back) but when I try to put dark shadow, no matter the brand, I always feel like a hooker.
